Mikkelsen ahead of Neuville in Sardinia

Andreas Mikkelsen took the lead in the Rally from Sardinia during the first passage of the first stage. The Norwegian immediately took control of the event in SS2, building a lead of several seconds over his pursuers and continued to set a strong pace in the four other stages of the course.

The Norwegian is 14 seconds ahead of his teammate Thierry Neuville. Despite his opening position, the Belgian took advantage of the wet conditions and his choice of soft tires to move to the forefront, notably signing the scratch in SS5 to regain second place against Ott Tänak (Toyota).

Hayden Paddon (Hyundai) pointe au huitième rang devant Craig Breen (Citroën) and Esapekka Lappi (Toyota).

Elfyn Evans (M-Sport) lost around twelve minutes in SS2 when she broke her steering following contact with an embankment. The Welshman had the parts to repair his mount but he already no longer plays any points regularly before the Power Stage.

The second passage of the first stage of the Sardinia Rally will resume from 15 p.m. The event can be followed live with our live text.
