Before resuming WRC next week with the Rally from Finland, Thierry Neuville returned to AUTOhebdo on his situation in the Championship where he is 27 points ahead of Sébastien Ogier. The pilot Hyundai a abordé la trêve dans un état de confiance maximal après avoir remporté son duel face au quintuple champion du monde.
“It will inevitably leave beautiful memories and this victory will keep a special place in my list of achievements. However, I don't think it marks a turning point in the championship. We have barely played half of the rounds and we know that Ogier never gives up. With these 27 points in advance, we have a joker. It’s up to us not to waste it”, confided Thierry Neuville in AUTOhebdo.
“The rest of the championship is going to be intense with six rounds in just over four months, so with Hyundai, we took advantage of these weeks without racing to prepare for the next events. It was in Estonia that we carried out our first tests in preparation for Finland, an area where, until now, we have often lacked performance. These tests went well…”, said the vice-world champion.
