The 1,9km Villa Carlos Paz super special launched the Rally from Argentina this Thursday evening. On the course mixing asphalt and dirt, it is Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) who was the fastest by completing the special in 1'54''4 with three tenths ahead of Ott Tänak (Toyota). Sébastien Ogier (M-Sport) completed the top three by four tenths.
Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai) finished half a second ahead of Kris Meeke (Citroën). The Northern Irishman preceded the Yaris WRC of Esapekka Lappi and the Ford Fiesta WRC of Teemu Suninen. Dani Sordo (Hyundai) finished eighth, 1 seconds ahead of Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota). Craig Breen (Citroën) completed the Top 10 by being the first by more than two seconds, preceding Elfyn Evans (M-Sport).
In WRC 2, Kalle Rovanperä (Skoda) established the best performance by setting the 12th fastest time in the general classification ahead of Pontus Tidemand (Skoda) and Gus Greensmith (Ford).
