Neuville followed by Ogier at the Monte-Carlo Rally

The first part second stage of Rally Monte-Carlo was marked by the cancellation of the first ES of the day for security reasons (misplaced spectators). This reduction in the route was not without consequences in the course of the morning since several teams (Citroën, M-Sport et Toyota) had relied on studded tires to tackle the Valdrôme – Sigottier course.

Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) took the opportunity to take the lead in the Monte-Carlo Rally from SS4 at Roussieux – Laborel. Nevertheless, Sébastien Ogier (Citroën) was able to respond on the following route from Curbans – Piégut to return to service with only a little more than 3 seconds behind the Belgian.

In the lead the day before, Ott Tänak (Toyota) struggled to keep pace and fell to third place. But the Estonian is not yet in difficulty since he is still 17 seconds from the lead of the race.

Sébastien Loeb (Hyundai) found pace this morning, notably taking the scratch in SS4, to climb to 4th place. The Alsatian will, however, have to work hard to get back into the lead group since he is more than half a minute behind the Yaris. WRC by Ott Tänak.

Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai) also got back in the right direction by finding himself fifth in the general classification. The Norwegian is put under pressure by the Finns Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) and Esapekka Lappi (Citroën) who are only a handful of seconds behind the i20 WRC. Kris Meeke (Toyota), on the other hand, had more difficulty and found himself 9th, one second behind Elfyn Evans (M-Sport) ahead of Pontus Tidemand (M-Sport).

Yoann Bonato (Citroën) retains the lead in WRC 2 with a one-minute lead over Adrien fourmaux (Ford), while Guillaume de Mevius (Citroën) completes the provisional podium in the category with half a minute ahead of Ole Christian Veiby (Volkswagen) Stéphane Sarrazin (Hyundai) moves between Adrien Fourmaux and Guillaume de Mevius in 14th place in the general classification (not entered in WRC 2). Gus Greensmith (Ford) keeps the lead in WRC 2 Pro following Kalle Rovanperä's error the day before.

The second passage of the day's stage should start from 14:23 p.m. The Monte-Carlo Rally can be followed live with our live text.
