New items on the menu for the 2016 Rally Finland

43% new portions will be on the menu Rally of Finland 2016, which will take place from July 28 to 31. The organizers of the Nordic event unveiled this Tuesday morning the route for this edition, with many new features.

The links will be reduced this year, with also the introduction of short stages to offer more timed sectors visible to spectators. Mid-day services will all be held in Jyväskylä. The rally will consist of 1371 km including 334 against the clock.

Among the new features, apart from the arrival of sectors like Halinen, the return to sectors more used since the 90s (Lake Päijänne, Lempää and Oittila), the monument Ouninpohja will be played in reverse compared to previous years, just like the Päijälä ES.

“We change the route slightly from year to year, in order to maintain the interest of the rally for the competitors, explains deputy event director Kari Nuutinen. This also works well for local residents, because this way some villages and other stakeholders involved in the event can take a break from time to time and enjoy the rally as spectators, and in other years they can once again be active in organizing the rally in their own village. »
