A few moments after his victory at Rally from Finland, his third of the season at the end of an incredible scenario, Sébastien Ogier admitted half-heartedly – and without real conviction – that he was going to have to finish the championship to help Toyota in the quest for world titles. “I have to see if we finish the season, but it seems I have no other option. It's no longer my priority (the title) but we will see. » We now know that the eight-time world champion will be at the start of the Acropolis Rally, in Greece, from September 5 to 8.

The Frenchman will be lined up alongside Elfyn Evans and Takamoto Katsuta with the primary objective of scoring big points for Toyota, while the Japanese team is 20 points behind in the Manufacturers' championship against Hyundai. Obviously, the quest for a 9th Drivers' title is also relevant since after his victory in Finland, Sébastien Ogier is in 2nd place, 27 points behind the leader, Thierry Neuville. Even though he missed three rallies, the Gapençais today represents the best chance of victory for the Japanese brand. In Greece, he will take part in his seventh rally of the season, having only achieved victories or 2nd places in 2024.
