Ogier and Quartararo distinguished with the national order of the Legion of Honor

Crowned world champions in their category in 2021, Sébastien Ogier and Fabio Quartararo were promoted to Knights of the Legion of Honor.

Ogier and Quartararo distinguished with the national order of the Legion of Honor

French motorsport is in the spotlight on this national holiday. While the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron celebrates France during the traditional Bastille Day parade on the Avenue des Champs-Élysées, Sébastien Ogier et fabio quartararo were distinguished by the national order of the Legion of Honor.

Respectively world champions in WRC and MotoGP During the 2021 season, Sébastien Ogier and Fabio Quartararo were promoted to the rank of “knight” of the Legion of Honor. On the list, the two Tricolores join in particular the mathematician Hugo Domini-Copin, recently awarded the Fields medal, the most prestigious award in mathematics.

« It's a date to mark with a white stone, rejoices Sébastien Poirier, President of the French Motorcycling Federation. The echoes of this distinction will resonate forever within the national sporting landscape, it is recognition at the highest level of the performances of our world champion by the Nation. I am proud and very happy for Fabio, through him the whole of motorcycle sport shines."

Sébastien Ogier and Fabio Quartararo are not the first drivers to be decorated with the Legion of Honor. In the past, Sébastien Loeb was also done in 2009 as well asAlain Prost, even promoted to the rank of officer in 1993.
