Ott Tänak returns to Toyota with a role in the development of the 2027 WRC

I've taken a step back lately, I've been able to dedicate myself to my personal projects, but this opportunity was exciting." A revelation that reflects both the spontaneity of this return and the persistent bond between the driver and the team with which he reached the top.

A different balance, far from the pressure of the championship

While this return might seem to signal a comeback to competition, Ott Tänak is keen to qualify this interpretation. "We know that the regulations will change significantly, and the team's job is to make the most of this new framework.", he emphasizes. "It will be a huge challenge, especially against the Rally2 cars." This observation highlights one of the major challenges of the coming years: maintaining the performance gap between categories while controlling costs and technical complexity. I know a lot of people here, and we share some great memories.", he confides. "The atmosphere is good, and everything is working very well." The person in question remains deliberately vague: "For now, there's no plan. I still want to drive, but in this form, it suits me perfectly."
