Le WRC The season will resume in Croatia in a few days, and the last few days have therefore been crucial in preparing for this first real asphalt event of the season. While the factory teams have been racking up test kilometers there for several weeks, others, particularly those in WRC2, were at the start of the Quattro River Rally held last weekend in Croatia. The geographical area of this rally The route was quite similar to some of the special stages on the program for the fourth round of the 2026 World Rally Championship. The event, of course, took place on completely neutral ground and featured, among others, the WRC2 winner from Sweden, Roope Korhonen. Not particularly comfortable on asphalt, the Finn took advantage of the opportunity to fine-tune his preparation and give himself every chance of shining next week.

Pablo Sarrazin in the match for the win at the Quattro River Rally

Contested over 10 special stages, the rally saw Korhonen take the win ahead of another driver who will be competing in Rijeka next week, Pablo Sarrazin. Co-driven by Yannick Roche, he participated in a Citroën C3 Rally2 and finished second overall behind Roope Korhonen and Anssi Viinikka, setting four fastest times on the rally and finishing just 10 seconds behind Korhonen. The young driver from the Gard region was experiencing the event for the first time, as well as the Croatian round of the WRC, and he too distinguished himself on the country's unique roads. The two men weren't the only ones to have made the trip, as Kajetan Kajetanowicz, three-time European Champion, was also present but drove the course car and was therefore not timed. It remains to be seen whether this preparation rally will have an impact next week, given how different the conditions will be.
