The celebration was short-lived for the young 23-year-old pilot. After crossing the finish line in first position, helped by the retirement of Richard Mason and Toshi Arai, the Pirelli Star Driver made a brief detour home to Geraldine, in the south of the country, before concentrating on his next competition in Portugal, whose dirt roads, similar to those encountered in New Zealand, could be favorable to him.
« Of course, the whole team is delighted “, declared the New Zealander after the race. “ It's just a small team based in a farm shed in South Canterbury and almost everyone works on a voluntary basis. The results of this weekend therefore bring enormous credit to our small team. » The Pirelli Star Driver will therefore be keen to repeat his feat to strengthen the confidence established after this victory.
In the meantime, he will be able to train on the roads of Portugal since he will compete in the rally for the Pirelli Star Drivers. “ I can't wait to get back into the Lancer EVO X and spend more time in the seat of this car which remains relatively new to us ", did he declare. The driver will also compete in the International Rally of Whangarei scheduled for this summer. He will then be ready to try to climb into the Top 3 of the drivers' championship in P-WRC during the next round in Finland which will take place at the end of July.
