It was via his Twitter account that Pierre-Louis Loubet announced the bad news. Already absent during the rally from Finland, the driver of the French team 2C Compétition will not be at the start of the last two events of the season, in Catalonia (October 14 to 17) and Monza (November 17 to 21). The native of Bastia suffered a hip fracture after being hit by a car. “Small change of program for this end of season: rehabilitation instead of an end of season in WRC. I got hit by a car = broken hip. Can't wait for 2022 to be able to show my potential behind the wheel again. You're going to say to me: 'Oh, no luck.' But believe me, I'm lucky to only have a broken hip after being hit by a car..." can we read on his Twitter account.

The Acropolis Rally (Greece) will therefore have been his last of the season, for the man who was WRC2 champion in 2019. The 2021 season therefore ends for Pierre-Louis Loubet, who will have participated in eight rounds this year at flying from his Hyundai i20 WRC, with a best result of seventh place in Estonia. He is currently in 17th place in the rankings.
