Quesnel regrets Monte-Carlo

What do you think of the FIA World Council decisions?
It's a good start. They have worked a lot but there is still a lot to do. I have always said that Rally was moving forward and would be on top in 2013. But we have to take it step by step and Wednesday?s decisions are a step in the right direction.

Are you in favor of moving to the 1600 cc engine in 3?
We agree with this decision. Previously, it was to be a two-liter naturally aspirated engine until 2013. But if this solution allows other manufacturers to join us, then it's a good idea.

What do you think of the 2010 calendar?
It could have been worse. The absence of the Monte-Carlo rally is a bad thing for us. But for the rest, it should suit us. In these times of financial crisis, the essential thing for Citroën is that every euro spent is justified. So we always prefer to go to places where we can sell cars.

How much power can you get with 1600cc engines?
Do you remember the Formula 1 with 1.5 liter turbo engines? During qualifying, they developed more than 1400 horsepower! We can do it. It is up to the FIA to decide on the size of the flange. But power is not a problem.

What do you think of the possibility of racing for two, three or four days during the rounds of WRC ?
We agree with this new freedom. If Monte Carlo returns in 2011, it could be a good solution.

And what about mixed surfaces during the same rally?
You saw how Sébastien (Loeb, editor’s note) got away with it in Cyprus? We would have no problem if there were more rallies like this!
