Takamoto Katsuta (Toyota) and Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) set the same time to lead the Acropolis Rally Shakedown.

Acropolis Rally – Katsuta and Neuville set best shakedown times

In already very hot conditions, the two drivers set a time of 2:47.9 over the 3,62 km Lygaria course. Enough to give them the best performance, six tenths ahead of the Hyundai byOtt Tänak, in third position. Kalle Rovanperä (Toyota) and Sébastien Ogier (Toyota), completed the top 5 in this first timed sector, which does not count towards the general classification.

In just a few kilometers, the competitors were well into the swing of things. Rally of the Acropolis, with a rough course, on which the dust has a hard time flying off as you pass. Opening the road is therefore not easy, due to the many stones on the track, but setting off behind it is not a guarantee of optimal visibility!

Irishman Josh McErlean was the fastest driver M-Sport Ford, in sixth position, ahead of championship leader Elfyn Evans and his Toyota GR Yaris. Adrien fourmaux (Hyundai) finished eighth. In WRC2, Spaniard Jan Solans was the fastest, 1.3 seconds ahead of Briton Gus Greensmith. The majority of Rally1 competitors opted to make only two runs, while most WRC2 drivers limited themselves to one run in the Shakedown.
