- Le Rally of Kenya 2024 is launched! After the Shakedown where Kalle Rovanperä showed himself the fastest this Wednesday, the competitors were treated to a short trip to the Kasarani district in the capital Nairobi to compete in the first special of the weekend. Or rather a super special.
- As usual, the Safari was opened by the Kasarani super special and its 4,84 kilometers of dirt. In the program ? The traditional face-to-face meetings. And in this game, it's Thierry Neuville who was the fastest. Opposed to his runner-up in the championship, whom he is ahead of by three points, Elfyn Evans, the Belgian set the benchmark for this SS1 by completing the course in 3'19"9 ahead of the Welshman by 1"7, 6e of this opening special.
- Between the two men came: Ott Tänak (+0“1), Kalle Rovanperä (+0“8), Takamoto Katsuta (+0“9) and Esapekka Lappi (+1“5). Adrien fourmaux ranked 7e 2"2 from Thierry Neuville's chorno.
- In the general classification, the Belgian driver therefore leads the debates even if these gaps are not yet representative. Consequently, these results have no impact on the running order for this Friday. Thierry Neuville will therefore open the road during SS2 (6:15 a.m. French time).
