After the Kasarani superspecial on Thursday evening, the competitors had a 63,79 km loop to compete on Friday morning with three dreaded special stages. Although in poor form after a difficult night, Fergus Greensmith won all three times. Back in the championship for the first time this season, the Englishman especially attacked during SS2 at Loldia. Then, Gus was able to limit his risk-taking. “ When we received the news that Oliver had a flat tire, I immediately dropped my pace, said the pale Skoda driver. We are certainly ahead, but that doesn't mean much here. A change of wheel and everything would be called into question. I have to remember to hydrate well, because the afternoon will still be difficult. »

While Greensmith managed to get through the tire issues, that was not the case for Oliver Solberg at all. “ I do not understand, he grumbled. We are driving with high pressure, I am going slower than last year and I am trying to avoid stones… Despite everything, we had two punctures. I know the gaps here can change quickly, but...this is disappointing! » Following his misadventures, the Swede announced that he was going to attack hard, which promises to be a spectacle.

While Solberg was downshifting, Kajetan Kajetanowicz was also slowed down by engine problems. The Skoda's troubles benefited Nicolas Ciamin and Yannick Roche who returned to the service park in 2e WRC2 position. “ It's much harder than I imagined, recognized the Nice resident. We could go faster, but it would risk breaking the car. I think we were hampered by a puncture and the car had a tendency to touch underneath, even in a straight line. So far our strategy is working, so we'll try to get through the afternoon in the same way. »

Before returning to the service park, the competitors will compete in the same loop as this morning.
