Sébastien Chardonnet in a new era

On the occasion of the next Rally from Italy to Sardinia, from June 6 to 8, Sébastien Chardonnet will debut the new Citroën DS3 R5 in the World Cup. A car of which the Frenchman ensured the development. “This is an important development for me, he acknowledges. During the winter, I started accumulating miles behind the wheel of a four-wheel drive car. Even if it necessarily takes time to adapt, I found automatisms from my years on the circuit. And I really enjoy driving. »

The former Champion WRC-3 will move into the higher category in WRC-2 with ambitions still high but with the notion of in-depth work behind the scenes. “My goal is to refine my driving and gain experience with the car and in the World Championship. I am a real competitor, the end goal is to win. But it is always necessary to go through a learning period which should not be neglected. And I know that the kilometers will be particularly important for me but also for Citroën Racing. I am preparing for this first rally with humility and a great desire to work for the future! »

The DS3 will face its cousin from the PSA group, namely the Peugeot 208 T16 R5, which has already proven itself in Europe, winning the Acropolis rally with Craig Breen at the wheel, but which will also debut at world level. Estonian Kark Kruuda will officiate in the Lioness in Italy.
