Will we find Sébastien Ogier its rally favorite next year? The seven-time winner of the Monte-Carlo Rally could return to the Alpine routes in 2023, still with Toyota. In an interview given to BFM Alpes, the multiple world rally champion has expressed his wish to participate in the “Monte-Carl’”. “Yes, obviously I want to come back! This is my favorite rally. I started a sort of semi-retirement, I didn't completely disconnect. I remain a Toyota driver and I am doing a few more rallies this year. »

Sébastien Ogier took part in three rallies this year: the Monte-Carlo (with a podium behind another legend, Sébastien Loeb), Portugal (abandonment) and the Safari Rally in Kenya (4th). After half a season in WEC with Richard Mille Racing and a first experience at 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Gapençais refocused on the rally. He could make new appearances for the second part of the season, notably in Japan on Toyota land. The reigning champion of WRC is still linked with the Japanese manufacturer, pending a possible seat in Hypercar.

Concerning the Monte-Carlo Rally, Sébastien Ogier was optimistic about his participation in 2023. “There is a good chance that I will try to do Monte Carlo next year. (…) For me, it’s always a great celebration, to have the support of the local population. I will do my best to be at the start. » If the service park will remain in Monaco for the 2nd consecutive year, and no longer at Gap as before, the Frenchman is already ready to find his audience again.
