On his social networks, Sébastien Ogier was reassuring following the road accident he suffered with his co-driver Vincent Landais, during reconnaissance of the Polish Rally WRC.

Eight-time world champion in the discipline, Ogier was forced to forfeit the Rally of Poland, which takes place this weekend. The French duo will be replaced by Kalle Rovanperä and Jonne Halttunen. A replacement which was of course organized urgently, while the Finnish co-pilot was in Estonia, getting a tattoo, when he received the call asking him to leave for Poland to join his pilot.

After a night spent under observation in the hospital, Sébastien Ogier gave his news this Wednesday morning on social networks. With a photo showing him wearing a neck brace, the Frenchman reassured his fans, explaining that he already feels much better and that he did not suffer any serious injuries in the impact.

“As you may know, Vincent and I had a road accident yesterday during reconnaissance of the Rally Poland. I had to spend the night in the hospital, but I already feel much better”, he indicated on his X account (formerly Twitter). “I am pleased that medical examinations revealed no serious injuries to Vincent and the occupants of the other car. We can't take part in this rally, which is a shame, but the most important thing is that everyone involved is safe. I thank everyone for all the messages I received. I am now on my way back to get some rest and ensure I return to full strength soon. Good luck to Kalle, Jonne and the whole team, I will support you! »

Sébastien Ogier is expected to make his return during the Latvia Rally, which takes place from July 18-21.
