Solberg: “Like a young pilot”

Petter Solberg, who competed in most of the season's Rallies WRC at the wheel of a Citroën Xsara, seems to have come back to life since he got behind the wheel of his Citroën C4. Fourth in Catalonia, the Norwegian is very satisfied with his new mount. “ Finding such a high-performance WRC was a dream that came true, attests Solberg. On asphalt, it impressed me a lot even though I was only at the learning stage. It's a fantastic opportunity to be able to drive such a competitive car. »

After a Rally contested on asphalt in Catalonia, the 2003 world champion will face the gravel of Wales, without being worried. “ I have already done tests on gravel and I found my marks from the first turns of the wheels. We have other tests scheduled for next week. I hope to do as many kilometers as possible to be ready for the start of the Rally Great Britain. »

Petter Solberg, who will compete in his second Rally at the wheel of the Citroën C4, feels new pressure on his shoulders. “ I'm like a young pilot who wants to get noticed. I want to show what I am capable of and do my best to seize my chance. At the same time, my objective will be to achieve a good result for the Citroën Junior Team. »

Petter Solberg, four-time winner, could shine in the final event of the season, when all eyes will be on the duel Loeb-Hirvonen for the award of the world champion title. “ The Rally of Great Britain is an event that I particularly enjoy. Phil Mills, my co-driver, plays there at home in front of many supporters. I want to fight at the forefront, with the best, as I have always tried to do when the equipment at my disposal made it possible! »
