Stéphane Lefebvre at the top

A victory automatically ensured the Junior title WRC to the Frenchman Stéphane Lefebvre on the roads of Rally from France-Alsace. But a spin in SS6 caused the 22-year-old Habs to lose contact with the leaders. From then on, the PH Sport driver tried not to make any mistakes, a strategy that paid off since his Slovak rival Martin Koci had to give up due to brake problems. Lefebvre then quietly let himself slide towards the finish.

“Winning the championship was in our plans since our good start to the season. But doing it here, in France, is a special emotion. » he admitted, he who finally finished fourth in the event, a place however sufficient to ensure him the title and join Sébastien on the list Loeb, Brice Tirabassi, or even Sébastien Ogier.

It now remains to turn towards a potential unprecedented double with the Junior ERC, whose last two rounds in Valais in Switzerland (October 23-25) and the final of the Tour de Corse (November 7-8) will be decisive. But, Lefebvre is expected to take part in the WRC Rally of Spain, at the wheel of a Citroën DS3 R5, the same weekend as Valais.
