Power Stage ranking

Rally Sweden standings

13h08 - Katsuta lets loose! Behind Neuville for a good part of the Power Stage, the Japanese gave his all in the last sector to lower Neuville's mark by 7 tenths with a time of 4'59. Enough to put pressure on Evans?

13h04 - Neuville finishes with a smile! He is the first to go under 5 minutes in this Power Stage, improving Rovanperä's time by one second. The new time to beat is 4'59"7 while Katsuta and Evans will engage in a final battle. The Belgian will settle for the third step of the podium

13h00 - And there will be a point for Fourmaux in this Power Stage since Thank you finished 6 tenths behind Rovanperä and therefore 4 behind the Northerner. This special stage was, like the rally, a disaster... "It must be said that the Estonian never found his cruising speed during the weekend. Enough to frustrate him

12h56 - And on the line…. it’s an improvement for Rovanperä of just 2 tenths! Here is the new mark to beat in this Power Stage: 5’00“7. The Finn secures 5th place overall. There's not much to say about the weekend to be honest, it was a disappointment. But we have to move on and hope that things go better at the next meeting. »

12h52 - Fourmaux still has the best time after Sesks' passage in 5'06“2 or 5“3 slower. If Rovanperä does not beat him, the Tricolore will ensure at least one point in the Power Stage

12h48 - Pajari lets go for the last one but misses the best time by 7 tenths (5'01“6). The Finn continues to learn. I think we showed a good pace and some nice things (…) I'm very happy about it. We will come back stronger! »

12h44 - Munster will feel bad about his small mistake while he was on a par with Fourmaux. The Luxembourger failed by 4 seconds with a time of 5'04“9. We wanted to try everything. I did a very clean special except for this braking (…) It's a shame. »

12h41 - 5'27“8 for Serderidis who completes his first stint of the year

12h36 - What about Fourmaux who saved his tires for the Power Stage? The Northerner improved McErlean's time by 4 seconds and set the new mark to beat, 7'5"00. I did a clean special but the roads were tricky (…) But we messed up yesterday… »

12h32 - The first reference in WRC is known thanks to McErlean who managed to get going again after his crash during SS16 this Sunday morning. The time to beat is now 5'05“6. A frustrating day but happy to be at the finish. We have made a huge step forward since the Monte Carlo »

12:28 – Victory for Solberg in WRC2 who takes the hat-trick in Sweden! 5'12“9 for the local who improves the category mark by 2“1 to win with a 42“5 lead!

12h24 - Korhonen finished this Rally Sweden with an improvement of 7 seconds on Heikkilä with a time of 3'5. He secured second place in WRC15. Only Solberg is missing in the category, on the verge of winning the event for the third time in a row.

12h21 - 5'22"3 for Heikkilä on the line, first driver entered in WRC2 to pass

12:15 p.m. – 🟢 The Power Stage is underway! 8,62 kilometers on the program for this Umea special, extended by three kilometers for the occasion

12:07 p.m. – Here is the order of performance for this Power Stage:

12:15 p.m.: Heikkilä
12:19: Korhonen
12:23: Solberg
12:27: McErlean
12:31 p.m.: Fourmaux
12:35: Serderidis
12:39: Munster
12:43: Pajari
12:47: Sesks
12:51: Rovanperä
12:55 p.m.: Evening
12:59 p.m.: Neuville
13:03 p.m.: Katsuta
13:07 p.m.: Evans

10:46 – 🏁 The start of SS18, the last of this Rally Sweden, is scheduled for 12:15.

10h43 – 🏁 And Evans responds! Fastest time and the Welshman once again takes the lead in the general classification before the Power Stage! It looks set to be thrilling as Evans has just taken 8 seconds off Katsuta to push him back to 2 seconds!

SS17 standings

General classification after SS17

10h40 – Ouuuf Katsuta who had a very close call in the last section when he missed the rope in a fast left turn! But more fear than harm for the Japanese who finished 1 seconds behind Neuville with a time of 5'14

10h37 – Neuville responds to Tänak and asserts himself on the podium! The Belgian takes the best provisional time in 14'20, 1“5 faster than his teammate. I made a small mistake in a junction where I lost about 1 seconds but it was a good stage overall. »

10h34 – Tänak in full attack as he aims for the podium and big points in this Super Sunday! 14'21“5 for him who beats Rovanperä's mark of 4“9. But behind him it's coming very quickly too!

10h28 – 14'26“4 for Rovanperä who takes the lead of the special by 6“9. Not the best special, I tried everything but not much to do. »

10h25 – Among the young shoots, Sesks responds to Pajari and dislodges him from the provisional lead of the special. 14'33“3 for him, faster by 2“7. Wow, that was something! We had a lot of fun in this special where the conditions are constantly changing. »

10h22 – Pajari easily beats the Munster mark and sets a new benchmark to beat: 14'36. This should quickly fall given the pace displayed by the other drivers at the moment.

10h19 – Munster improves without surprise. 14'59“8 or 1'33“6 faster than Fourmaux. The tracks are not good so I had to lift in a few places (…) I want to save some juice for the last special. »

10h17 – 16'42“8 for Serderidis who finished 9“4 behind a Fourmaux who was riding very slowly

10h14 – A much slower time compared to the first pass for Fourmaux who completed this SS17 in 16'33"5. The Northerner must undoubtedly preserve his tires to possibly hope to win a few points during the Power Stage. " We have to sweep a lot so the strategy is to think about the Power Stage and preserve the tires. »

9h57 – 🟢 The action resumes in Sweden! The Västervik special is back on track, where Fourmaux has already received the starting signal. Earlier this morning, the Northerner had completed it in 14'44“9

8h16 – 🏁 The start of SS17 is scheduled for 9:57 a.m. after a stopover in assistance.

8h13 – 🏁 Change of leader in Sweden! Evans finished 7 seconds behind Katsuta, allowing the Japanese to regain the lead in the general classification! The Welshman falls back to 5nd place, 2 seconds behind the Japanese. I haven't had any problems, I just don't have confidence with the front and I can't get the speed I want to have. »

SS16 standings

General classification after SS16

8h10 – Great time from Katsuta who pushed himself twice in the last part to improve to 14'15“3 or 0“9 faster than Tänak. At the last checkpoint, he was 4“9 faster than Evans which would allow him to take the lead of the rally

8h07 – No improvement for Neuville who crossed the line 4 seconds behind Tänak with a time of 7'14"20. The Belgian was heard saying "Oh I can't do it" in the cockpit. I had a good stage to be honest, I just have understeer. I can't do anything."

8h04 – And…. we continue. It is Tänak who is at the top of the timesheet with a time of 14'16“2, 1“6 faster than Rovanperä. For the moment, he is set to keep it since no one is ahead of him among the three drivers who are still on the special

8h01 – Rovanperä confirms the trend and already relegates Sesks' time to 15. The new mark to beat is 7'14"17 and it could fall quickly

7h58 – Sesks’ turn to take the provisional lead of the SS with a time of 14’33“5 beating Pajari’s by 7“3. The improvements will continue! I have a problem with my handbrake. It locks all four wheels, not just the back two. I almost stalled twice because of it. »

7h55 – The first improvement came in this SS16. It was Pajari who set the new mark to beat in 14'40“8, 4“1 faster than that of Fourmaux. The Finn could have gained a little more time but he was forced to lift when he saw McErlean stopped on the side at the middle of the special

7h49 – Munster is not taking any risks at the start of the day. 14'53 for him at 8“1 from Fourmaux. It was a beautiful special stage which became faster and faster as the kilometres went by. »

7h47 – 16'49“9 for Serderidis on the line 2'05 from Fourmaux

7h45 – 💥 McErlean is stopped after 14,8 km! The Irishman hit the embankment with the left rear in a fast right turn. He is now stuck in a snow bank in an area where there are spectators and is trying to get back on the road

7h42 – Fourmaux finishes this first special of the day. 14'44“9 for the Northerner who sets the mark to beat. There is not much I can do at the moment given my position on the road (…) We will see for the Power Stage, for the Super Sunday it will be difficult… »

7h36 – In terms of strategy, everyone has opted for the same one. So, all the drivers are taking 5 tires this Sunday for the three special stages of the day.

7h32 – As a reminder, Evans leads the general classification but nothing is decided since Katsuta is only 3 seconds behind and Neuville 6 seconds behind.

7h27 – 🟢 The last day of Rally Sweden is underway! Fourmaux is already on the road on this Västervik special stage with 29,35 kilometres of snow on the programme

  • Serderidis
  • Munster
  • McErlean
  • Pottery
  • Sex
  • Rovanperä
  • Thank you
  • Neuville
