16h17 - Update on the situation at the end of this afternoon in Kenya, see you tomorrow morning for the final day of this Safari Rally 2025!

Kenya – A nightmare afternoon for Toyota, but Evans holds firm

15h55 - And the point on the general:

15h54 - The ranking of this sixteenth special:

15h52 - Not a great special for Elfyn Evans either, the Welshman finished 53 seconds behind Thank you, who won the scratch. The two drivers are separated by 1'57″4 in the general classification.

15h49 - The ordeal is nearing its end for Kalle Rovanperä, who has lost 3:18 seconds on the current fastest time. He is now fifth overall.

15h43 - Ott Tänak crossed the line with the best time, in 20'19″1, 22″1 faster than Thierry NeuvilleThe Estonian will thus confirm his second place overall.

15h41 - Katsuta lost 1'57"4 to the new leader, Thierry Neuville, at the end of the stage. The Belgian finished 12"1 ahead of Sami Pajari.

15h40 - Difficulties for Thierry Neuville at the end of the special, he seems to have difficulty getting out of the slow bends.

15h35 - 20'53″3 for Sami Pajari, best time of the special, 32″6 faster than Munster, while the rain falls harder!

15h31 - Josh McErlean also finished the stage, without a front bumper! He only conceded three seconds to Munster.

15h30 - Best time for Grégoire Munster, he improves Serderidis's mark by 2'27″1.

15h29 - Serderidis finished with difficulty in 23'53″0, the end of the special being really flooded.

15h27 - Takamoto Katsuta stopped after nine kilometers, but was able to restart after a wheel change.

15h24 - Thierry Neuville launched into the special, but he seemed to be slowing down for a few moments.

15h20 - The first two Toyota, by Sami Pajari and Takamoto Katsuta, are now in the special.

15h16 - Still no rain for the moment in this 16th special stage of the rally, while the forecast was pessimistic, with showers coming regularly around 17 p.m. local time (it is 17:16 p.m. in Kenya).

15h11 - With the entry into the special of Grégoire Munster and Josh McErlean, all the Fords M-Sport went to attack Soysambu.

15h06 - ☁️ The clouds are there, but no rain at the start of the special, a few scattered drops at most.

15h03 - 🟢 The sixth and final special stage of this Saturday is underway. Jourdan Serderidis is leading the way, which will allow us to assess the weather conditions!

14h54 - For Kalle Rovanperä, the final 29-kilometer special stage of the day could prove very difficult if he has to ride at a slower pace again. The Finn could lose four to five minutes.

14h47 - And the general update, with the confirmation of Kalle Rovanperä's decline:

14h46 - The ranking of this fifteenth special:

14h44 - Elfyn Evans is 47 seconds behind at the finish, which gives Grégoire Munster the scratch! The Welshman can, however, approach the last special of the day in a very relaxed mood, he has a lead of more than 1'2 over Ott Tänak in the general classification.

14h42 - Rovanperä finishes, he concedes 2'56″8 to Munster, the Finn leaves the podium by four tenths against Katsuta.

14h40 - From the outside view, it's clear that makeshift repairs aren't enough; Rovanperä does a great job simply bringing his car back to the finish line! He'll be able to repair it again on the road to the final special stage of the day, which will also be the longest.

14h37 - Kalle Rovanperä is slowing down in the special, losing 1'36 at the halfway point! The Finn may well drop off the provisional podium.

14h36 - Ott Tänak also crosses the finish line, just behind Thierry Neuville. The Estonian regains some breathing space in the general classification, remaining third with a lead of 49 seconds over Katsuta.

14h34 - Neuville finished 41″2 behind Munster, he took 35″8 back from Katsuta.

14h33 - And it's Thierry Neuville's turn to suffer a puncture! Elmenteita is clearly a stage that forgives nothing!

14h31 - Katsuta loses 1'17 to Munster, it remains to be seen whether Tänak can take advantage of this.

14h29 - A puncture for Katsuta could slow his progress towards the top.

14h28 - Sami Pajari finishes, losing 37 seconds to Munster. Kalle Rovanperä has made makeshift repairs to his Yaris, and we hope for the Finn and his co-driver that it will hold up over the last two stages of the day...

14h25 - The rain started to fall again at the start of the special, as we saw with Takamoto Katsuta's difficult start.

14h24 - Josh McErlean was 12 seconds behind Grégoire Munster at the finish.

14h23 - Kalle Rovanperä was able to restart, but he was a minute late, which should add ten seconds to his overall ranking.

14h21 - 1'22″8 better for Grégoire Munster on his teammate, the Luxembourger also improves his time from this morning by around thirty seconds.

14h18 - Jourdan Serderidis finished in 12'34"2, around thirty seconds faster than this morning, the conditions seem to be improving.

14h13 - Conditions are better than in the second run of Sleeping Warrior, however the surface remains quite muddy.

14h09 - Kalle Rovanperä and Jonne Halttunen are repairing the left rear of their Toyota Yaris, so there was some suspension damage on the previous stage.

14h05 - 🟢 Jourdan Serderidis is off to open this fifteenth special.

13h54 - And the general classification, ten minutes from SS15:

13h54 - The ranking of this fourteenth special:

13h50 - 27 seconds behind Evans at the finish, new scratch for Katsuta then!

13h47 - The two-time world champion apparently suffered a puncture on his Toyota Yaris.

13h46 - Kalle Rovanperä was 15 seconds behind his teammate Takamoto Katsuta at the finish line.

13h45 - Ott Tänak finished, 1'31″8 slower than Katsuta, which means that the Japanese is only fifteen seconds behind the Estonian in the general classification!

13h44 - Elfyn Evans spins out after being trapped in the mud a few kilometers from the finish.

13h41 - Neuville finished 30 seconds behind Katsuta.

13h39 - Thierry Neuville is also having fogging problems. We saw his co-driver Martijn Wydaeghe cleaning the windshield with a wipe and a selfie stick! We don't have oil, but we have ideas, as the saying goes...

13h37 - Takamoto Katsuta narrowly escaped punishment when he went off the track, taking a cactus with him! 🌵 He still set the fastest time with a lead of 58 seconds.

13h36 - Sami Pajari finishes, just two seconds behind Grégoire Munster!

13h35 - Ott Tänak appears to be having problems with condensation inside his cockpit, which explains why he is losing so much time.

13h32 - Josh McErlean finishes, 25 seconds behind Grégoire Munster. And at the same time, rain is forecast for the next stage!

13h30 - Grégoire Munster finished with a puncture on the front left tire and a time of 19'21"6.

13h29 - Tänak lost 26 seconds on Munster at the first intermediate stage. While the Luxembourger's opponents gradually came back on the rest of the stage, they lost a lot of time at the start!

13h28 - The final special is completely flooded, it's going to be difficult! 22'05"6 for Serderidis, who was more than two minutes faster this morning.

13h25 - Jourdan Serderidis enters the final kilometers, where the rain has calmed down, after being very intense about ten minutes ago.

13h22 - Takamoto Katsuta is currently 6 seconds behind Grégoire Munster in the first sector. The Japanese man had a superb morning and will be looking to continue in this vein.

13h18 - As conditions deteriorate from one stage to the next, the rally leaders could be disadvantaged by their order of passage.

13h13 - Grégoire Munster also almost made a mistake, this afternoon's three special stages could change the face of this Kenya Rally!

13h11 - And after ten kilometers, it's a real deluge! The mud will quickly return to the track, Serderidis even made a mistake in a very wet area.

13h08 - The rain intensifies at the start, it eases slightly in the special, Serderidis is five kilometers away and only a few drops are falling.

13h05 - 🟢 It's time for Jourdan Serderidis, who will allow us to discover the current conditions.

13h04 - 🌧️ The first run through Sleeping Warrior was muddy… the second should be even muddy, since it's raining quite heavily!

13h00 - We're back! SS14 is gearing up, with a second run through Sleeping Warrior.

09h47 - We'll meet up from 13:05 p.m. to follow the afternoon loop, with the same three special stages as this morning!

09h46 - If you weren't with us for the three special stages, here's the morning's summary:

Kenya – Evans finishes the morning more than a minute ahead of Rovanperä

09h27 - And the overall ranking:

09h27 - The result of this ES13:

09h26 - In WRC2, Jan Solans is now leading the way, with Gus Greensmith having taken as few risks as possible on this stage, as he no longer has a spare wheel.

09h20 - Third time at 25″4 for Elfyn Evans, it is therefore Takamoto Katsuta who wins this SS13!

09h18 - And an error for Elfyn Evans who goes wide in the final meters. The Welshman will not achieve a third consecutive scratch, and he goes out into the grass again!

09h17 - 1'20″9 lost by the Finn at the finish line, which brings Tänak to 17 seconds in the general classification.

09h13 - Kalle Rovanperä appears to have suffered a puncture, losing 46 seconds after 24,5km!

09h13 - Ott Tänak is 13 seconds behind Katsuta at the finish of the special.

09h10 - Thierry Neuville finishes, a very bad Saturday morning for the world champion who lost 35 seconds, he is now 5'1"29 behind Katsuta in the general classification. It's impossible to know what the problem is, if there is one, since the riders don't speak at the finish.

09h06 - Takamoto Katsuta finishes and the times improve indeed as he takes 33″3 in Munster!

09h04 - Sami Pajari is 1 seconds behind at the finish line with his Toyota, but we expect to see the times improve with the top 3 overall.

09h01 - Josh McErlean finished, 40 seconds behind Munster, after a small error in the last few hundred meters.

08h56 - Munster had a 1'33″8 lead over his teammate at the finish line.

08h54 - The Greek finished in 19'43″1.

08h53 - Serderidis spins at the end of the special, the mud is back!

08h48 - Pajari is also in the special, he achieves the same time to within a tenth of Munster at the first intermediate.

08h46 - Munster is trying not to take too many risks, as he no longer has a spare tire for this final stage of the morning. The service park will allow him to regain one for the afternoon.

08h42 - Josh McErlean also sets off, the conditions are better than on the first two special stages, but the rough nature of the stage can therefore be revealed from the first few meters!

08h37 - It's Grégoire Munster's turn to tackle the 29 km of Soysambu.

08h33 - 🟢 We continue, with Jourdan Serderidis who sets off on SS13!

08h15 - The general point:

08h14 - The results of this twelfth special:

08h13 - Elfyn Evans has another scratch, 1 seconds ahead of Katsuta. Overall, he now has a 7-second lead over Kalle Rovanperä!

08h10 - Kalle Rovanperä finishes with a tire that came off the rim, and he only loses 19 seconds to Katsuta!

08h08 - Ott Tänak lost 22 seconds at the finish line, once again Toyota rules the roost in Kenya.

08h06 -💬 Thierry Neuville: "Not many more comments than yesterday, I'm sorry but I have nothing to say."

08h05 - Thierry Neuville lost 42 seconds to Katsuta, who widened the gap to fourth place overall.

08h03 - Only Munster and McErlean spoke English at the finish, Pajari said a single word in Finnish, and Katsuta spoke in Japanese, after almost starting out in English. "It's not easy to speak Japanese in an English interview," he said afterward. We're relaunching Duolingo and bringing you the interview translations as quickly as possible!

08h01 - And he confirmed it at the finish, with a 51-second advantage. Once again, "Taka" and Kenya are a match made in heaven!

08h01 - Katsuta already has a 50-second lead over Pajari after 16 kilometers - what a special for the Japanese!

07h59 - Sami Pajari climbs to the top of the timesheet with a 7 second lead.

07h55 - Josh McErlean finished, 29″5 ahead of his teammate Serderidis.

07h54 - Grégoire Munster indicates that the conditions are very "crème brûlée", brittle on top, very muddy and creamy on the bottom!

07h53 - The Luxembourger crosses the line, he concedes 40″4 to Serderidis.

07h50 - Munster set off again, having lost a good minute and a half to change his wheel.

07h49 - 13'01″3 for Jourdan Serderidis who finishes.

07h46 - Grégoire Munster stops, Louis Louka opens the trunk, and off we go to change the front right wheel.

07h44 - As in the first special of the day, the mud is extremely significant at the start of the special.

07h40 - Grégoire Munster is also in the special, which is traced around a lake and has huge areas of vegetation, making it difficult to gauge all the upcoming bends.

07h38 - Overall, the riders are expecting a very demanding special stage, despite its 17 kilometers, which makes it the shortest special stage of the day!

07h35 - The twelfth special stage begins, Jourdan Serderidis is the first to set off.

07h28 - And the point on the general:

07h27 - The ranking of this eleventh special:

07h20 - And it was the overall leader, Elfyn Evans, who won this first special of the day! 8″2 ahead of Kalle Rovanperä.

07h18 - For Kajetanowicz, the damage appears to be much more serious than a simple puncture, which he is repairing with his co-driver.

07h17 - 26 seconds ahead of Rovanperä at the finish, the best time for the Finn.

07h17 - The problems mainly arise in the second part of the special, which is much drier and more brittle.

07h15 - Kajetanowicz stops in the special stage, the Pole is leading the WRC2! He has suffered a puncture.

07h15 - Ott Tänak finishes and only loses five seconds to Katsuta.

07h14 - Thierry Neuville finishes, losing 2'06 to Katsuta after his wheel change. The Japanese man overtakes him in the general classification.

07h13 - Even for those who arrived at the end of the special stage, the damage was still there! Munster (rear right) and Katsuta (front right) had their wheels off and had to replace a tire during the liaison to the next special stage.

07h12 - McErlean broke a steering arm, the crew is repairing it.

07h09 - Neuville is back in the special.

07h09 - 16'54″5 for Takamoto Katsuta, the fastest at the finish of the special, with almost thirty seconds ahead of Grégoire Munster.

07h08 - Thierry Neuville is at a standstill! The Belgian driver and his co-driver Martijn Wydaeghe have a front-left puncture.

07h07 - Pajari finished, 32″2 behind Munster.

07h06 - The Irishman still hasn't set off again. Meanwhile, Kalle Rovanperä is setting the fastest times in the first sectors, ahead of his teammate Takamoto Katsuta.

07h03 - Josh McErlean stopped after 22,3 km, possibly with a flat tire.

07h01 - Thierry Neuville lost eighteen seconds at the second intermediate, the lights of the Hyundai flashing, perhaps an indication?

07h00 - 17'22″7 for Grégoire Munster at the finish, the first significant time of the day.

06h59 - Jourdan Serderidis is the first to finish, after a grueling special stage... and it's only the first of the day!

06h57 - After 8,5 kilometers, Takamoto Katsuta is currently setting the best time.

06h55 - McErlean, Pajari, Katsuta and now Neuville are also in this first special of the day.

06h53 - To give you a precise idea of the conditions on this first special:

06h43 - Grégoire Munster is off to a great start, and it's a real struggle!

06h41 - The start of the special is really full of mud, the drivers will have difficulty navigating it.
