Tänak leads at Rally Chile

Ott Tänak (Toyota) a été le plus efficace dans les premiers kilomètres de la nouvelle épreuve du Rally from Chile. On a very slippery course where the crews were discovering the roads after difficult reconnaissance, the Estonian took control of the race by signing the scratch in SS2. The Toyota driver returns to service with a lead of 6 seconds over Sébastien Ogier (Citroen).

Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) n’a pas réellement souffert du balayage. Crédité d’un temps forfaitaire dans l’ES2 lorsque la spéciale a été interrompue alors qu’il venait de s’élancer, le leader du championnat a pu conserver ses pneus pour signer le temps référence sur le parcours suivant. Le Belge pointe à une demi-seconde du champion du monde en titre.

Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) évolue en 4e position après avoir fait une nette différence sur son coéquipier Kris Meeke, premier leader du Rallye du Chili, sur le dernier parcours disputé. Le Nord-Irlandais est désormais sous la pression d’Elfyn Evans (M-Sport). Sebastian Loeb (Hyundai) is the last of the first group, running less than 40 seconds from the head of the race.

The rest of the peloton is released. Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai) is in 8th place, already more than a minute behind. The Norwegian precedes Teemu Suninen (M-Sport) by a few seconds. Esapekka Lappi (Citroën) is isolated in 10th place.

Mads Ostberg (Citroën) leads the WRC 2 Pro with around ten seconds ahead of Kalle Rivanperä (Skoda) while playing at the gates of the Top 10.
