Tänak sets sail for Sardinia

Ott Tänak (Toyota) had a sensational day at Rally of Sardinia by winning all the special stages of the second stage. The Estonian thus distanced his pursuers who were all on hard tires and found himself with a lead of 26 seconds over Dani Sordo (Hyundai). Teemu Suninen (M-Sport) remains isolated in 3rd row.

The second passage was animated by the fight for 4th place between Elfyn Evans (M-Sport), Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai) and Kris Meeke (Toyota). The Welshman maintains the advantage by 8 seconds over the Norwegian even if he lost time by finding himself in the dust of the Northern Irishman. The latter suffered a puncture in the last special, losing two minutes and slipping to 8th position behind Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) and Esapekka Lappi (Citroën).

Behind the Yaris WRC by Juho Hänninen, Kalle Rovanperä (Skoda) remains at the top of the WRC 2 Pro with 26 seconds ahead of Jan Kopecky (Skoda). Pierre-Louis Loubet (Skoda) lost more than a minute on the last course and ceded control of WRC 2 to Takamoto Katusta (Ford) 18 seconds behind.

The final stage of the Sardinia Rally will include 4 more stages. The day should start at 8:15 a.m. with the 14km from Cala Flumini. The test is to be followed with our live text.
