Tänak resists Neuville in Germany

The second passage of the first stage of Rally from Germany offered an identical diagram in the morning. Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) was the fastest on the first course whileOtt Tänak (Toyota) signed the scratch on the following two specials. It is the Estonian who therefore remains in the lead with 2”8 ahead of the Belgian.

Si Sébastien Ogier (Citroën) was able to improve the behavior of its C3 WRC, the six-time champion remains behind 22 seconds from the lead of the race. The Frenchman still sees his 3rd place threatened, with the Toyotas of Kris Meeke and Jari-Matti Latvala only a few seconds behind. Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai) was able to progress to 6th place, taking advantage of a spin from Esapekka Lappi (Citroën).

Dani Sordo (Hyundai) is the big loser of the afternoon. In 4th position before the last SS of the day, the Spaniard lost a minute following gearbox problems and fell to 9th place behind Gus Greensmith (M-Sport).

Kalle Rovanperä (Skoda) has mastered his subject by remaining at the head of WRC 2 Pro with around twenty seconds ahead of his teammate Jan Kopecky. The Finn is 10th in the general classification ahead of the Yaris WRC of rookie Takamoto Katsuta. Mads Ostberg (Citroën) remains on the provisional podium in the category after getting a big scare when he was unable to hit a spectator who had fallen from a wall in front of him. Éric Camilli (Ford) follows in XNUMXst place after a difficult day.

The second stage will include 8 special stages offering a total of 157km timed. The day should start at 8:12 a.m. and will be followed with our live text.
