Thierry Neuville races towards victory in Corsica

The ninth special between Antisanti and Poggio di Nazza was feared with its 53 km. On this justice of the peace, Thierry Neuville a consolidé encore un peu plus sa position de leader du Tour de Corse en réalisant le meilleur temps en 32’34″6, un dixième devant son équipier chez Hyundai Danny Deaf.

The latter carried out the very good operation of the morning, seizing second place in the general classification 57″8 from Neuville and thanks to the loss of time of Sébastien Ogier. Le pilote Ford – M-Sport a perdu plus de 23″ sur l’Espagnol et perd sa position pour 2″5 face à Sordo. No explanation came from Ogier upon the arrival of the SS, the Frenchman appearing quite angry.

Ogier stopped on the road after the special to look at his mount before getting back on the road, but electrical problems are believed to be the cause of the world champion's loss of time.

The fight for places of honor continues between Craig Breen (Citroën) and Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota).

Andreas Mikkelsen (Skoda) largely retains control of the category WRC-2 with more than 1′ ahead of Teemu Suninen (Ford). Despite a loss of more than a minute on the best time of Eric Camilli (Ford) in this SS, Yohan Rossel (Citroën) retains third place in WRC-2 ahead of Simone Tempestini (Citroën), who took the best on Ole Christian Veiby (Skoda), victim of a puncture.

Nil Solans remains in the lead in the Junior WRC with an 18″4 lead over Terry Folb.

The Power Stage of the Tour de Corse will be contested from 12:18 p.m. and will once again be followed live with commentary on our website.
