Everyone who knows Thierry Neuville is unanimous. His willpower is one of his main characteristics. Having made a quick and very successful start, it then took him several years to achieve his goals and win the crown he deserved.

Thierry Neuville, the journey of a fighter

Initially, nothing predestined the native of Hünningen to live the career that was his up until this title of world champion. Born on June 16 in Saint-Vith, 170 km south-east of Brussels, in a modest family, Thierry Neuville regularly went to rallies with his father…and he loved it. Although he didn’t imagine making a career out of it at the time, he was keen to try his hand at the sport.

Meteoric rise

He finally took the plunge in 2007, at the age of 19, after experimenting with football and motocross. His debut was at Rally from Luxembourg with an Opel Corsa, sharing the cockpit with his friend Achim Maraite. What had not yet happened due to an incredible lack of luck, has become a reality with a world champion title. It is absolutely deserved! His virtuosity, his composure, and his exceptional courage are finally rewarded with this title.

Congratulations to Thierry who had the best season by often sweeping the road. His car was not the best and neither was the reliability. He deserves this title. Congratulations!
