Toyota will present its Rally2 in Japan

Finally ! Since Toyota returned to the WRC in 2017 the subject has come up every year and the answer has always been the same: no time. This time, for private drivers it should soon be possible to purchase part of the TGR know-how since a GR Yaris Rally2 will be unveiled in Japan.

Toyota will present its Rally2 in Japan

By observing one of them more precisely, it appeared that it was not even a Toyota... Although he had not wanted to reveal anything concerning these hidden devices, Tom Fowler, the technical director, had on the other hand recognized that projects in other classes were underway. During its rally in Japan (November 10-13) Toyota is not going to do things by halves. While Tommy Mäkinen will be driving the hydrogen Yaris already seen in Ypres, Juha Kankkunen will be on the trip to drive the new Yaris Rally2. Accompanied by Akio Toyoda, the Finn will complete the super special stage on Saturday evening (SS13/14 Okazaki City, 1,4 km). So far the car has only covered a few kilometers in Finland and its development is therefore only just beginning.

During the New Zealand rally, a GR Yaris meeting AP4 regulations was observed. Will the Rally2 look similar? Response to Japan…
