A new route at Wales Rally GB?

Organizers of Wales Rally GB will have new roads available to create the route for their event thanks to a law making these sporting events easier.

The Welsh Government has amended a law to make it easier to close public roads for motorsport events.

The MSA (Motor Sports Association) is behind the request, which will allow Wales Rally promoter GB International Motor Sports Ltd (IMS) to seek new routes for the event which experienced a record attendance with more than 100 spectators last year.

This law will not only apply to Wales Rally GB. Organizers of motorcycle races, rally or hill climbs will also benefit from this measure. The final route will be revealed in April.
