A complete program for Pierre-Louis Loubet in 2023 with M-Sport

If the young driver was confident, he did not dare to go too far so as not to compromise everything, but this time it is certain: Pierre-Louis Loubet will compete in the entire 2023 championship at the wheel of a hybrid Ford Puma Rally1. He will be accompanied by Nicolas Gilsoul who will make his return to the WRC.

There had been several warning signs, but as long as nothing was signed or made official it was best to keep a low profile. Pierre-Louis Loubet can now say: he will be at the start of the 13 rounds scheduled for next year in WRC. The 25-year-old French hopeful will therefore discover some of them, such as the Safari or Japan, to talk about the more distant ones.

For the new teammateOtt Tänak, this rewards a year 2022 during which he was able to perform well despite spaced participations which always complicate the search for the best pace. From his first appearance in Croatia, he displayed interesting competitiveness, then confirming it in Portugal. Within a squad in difficulty, its rise in power continued in Sardinia (4e) and especially in Greece where he led the event by signing 2 scratch times.

Working on this project with his partners, P'tit-Louis recently began looking for a co-pilot to replace Vincent Landais. The experiment attempted with Nicolas Gilsoul during a rally national in France having proven positive, the two men will share the passenger compartment of the Puma next year.

« It's something I've dreamed of since I was a kid coming true, declared the one who will be the only Frenchman with a complete program in 2023. To do my first full season and do the main passion of my life every weekend is something truly fantastic. Competing in all 13 races takes a lot of pressure off me because it gives me time to show my full potential.

My biggest goal will be to complete each event, gain experience and learn where we can push and get the most out of the car. » For the tricolor, this announcement is a great revenge after a very difficult year 2021 at the end of which some said it was lost for the rally.

Here he is faced with a nice challenge as Malcolm Wilson explains: “ I am very happy to confirm Pierre-Louis Loubet for the whole of next year. I have every confidence in him and I think his performances this year have shown that he has all the ingredients to go far. I am hopeful that by working alongside Ott Tänak, Pierre will develop and learn in the same way that Ott Tänak did in 2017 with Sébastien Ogier»

If Pierre-Louis doesn't yet know what to ask Santa Claus, he can always ask him for a little " Estonian for dummies "!
