Valentino Rossi wins the Monza Rally Show

Already seen on four wheels three times in the World Rally Championship (in New Zealand, and twice at Wales Rally GB), Valentino Rossi is a regular at the Monza Rally Show, held at the Monza Autodromo in Italy.

Winner in 2006, 2007, 2012 and 2015, the defending champion, co-driven by Carlo Cassina, scored a fifth success in the event this Sunday by resisting the Spaniard Dani Sordo and his compatriot Marco Bonanomi, his two main rivals .

Aligned with a Ford Fiesta RS WRC, « Le Docteur » s’impose au terme des dix ES avec une avance de 18″4 sur Sordo (Hyundai i20 WRC) et 18″9 sur Bonanomi, qui évoluait sur une DS3 WRC.

Dani Sordo, penalized by 5″ on the first day, finished as the best performer in the event with six special victories, compared to two for Rossi and two for Bonanomi. Paolo Andreucci (Peugeot 208 T16) ranks 10th overall and first in the R5.
