The small world of WRC of not opening enough to the outside world. Since a distant cousin produced successful series on platforms, the World Rally Championship has struggled to exist on these supports. While the promoter of the discipline offers high quality live coverage, but mainly aimed at already convinced fans, it was time to tell what happens behind the curtain.

Pushing for several months for things to move and for greater use of means of communication and social networks, M-Sport finally decided to take action.

« On rallies, there is so much going on behind the scenes in the service park that fans don't get to see, explains Richard Millener, the M-Sport team manager who has always insisted that this type of project succeed. I think this series will go a long way in bringing people closer to the sport. We're only scratching the surface, but by telling these stories and getting to know the people who race the cars and make sure the rally takes place, we open ourselves up to an even wider fan base. There are real human stories to be told here and I'm very happy that we can now document them. »

In collaboration with the promoter, but also the companies SafetyCulture and Superlative Film, 6 episodes will be broadcast on YouTube and the WRC Promoter channel. It will be possible to immerse yourself in the daily life of Malcolm Wilson's team, whether during the events or at Dovenby Hall in England. The first part will be available on August 22 and it will be about the Safari in Kenya. During one of the most difficult rounds of the season, Adrien fourmaux and Alex Coria obtained their 2e podium in 2024, the 2e of their career. How was this managed within the team, how did the mechanics, engineers and management experience this result? Behind the scenes of this result in both Naivasha and Cumbria will be shared like it has never been done before. Focusing on the people who make up the team, this “More Than Machine” series should help raise awareness of the WRC with its ups and downs, the joys and sacrifices made by the members of the team.

« I'm very proud to see the creation of this insightful series on what it takes to be a global rally team, rejoiced Malcolm Wilson. Showcasing the hard work and tenacity of the team, as well as introducing some of our characters, is a joy to watch. Until now, the WRC has not delved into the history of the people who make the operation work, so to have the chance to show this to a global audience is something very special. I hope everyone enjoys following our WRC journeys as much as we had working with the production team. »
