WRC – Craig Breen and Pontus Tidemand at Rally Sweden

Craig Breen will play his first rally driving a Fiesta RS WRC from February 5 to 8 in Sweden, even if Northern Ireland already has a program with Peugeot en ERC. The 2012 S-WRC champion has been competing since last year with the Sochaux manufacturer in the European Rally Championship where he has been fighting until now with a 207 S2000. “I thank Peugeot Sport for allowing me to participate in the Swedish Rally”, declared the Briton. “We are really focused on the ERC this year and the debut of the 208 T16 in March. Nevertheless, it goes without saying that we could not miss such an opportunity to participate in a round of the WRC. This is what I dreamed of since I was a kid. »

Rally Sweden will also see Craig Breen make his debut with new co-driver Scott Martin. “We have already carried out tests together and we are anxiously awaiting the start of our Peugeot Rally Academy programme. »

Craig Breen won't be the only one making his debut at the highest level of the WRC as Pontus Tidemand has also been confirmed to start Rally Sweden in another Fiesta RS WRC. M-Sport confirmed the presence of the reigning J-WRC champion. “Having seen him grow since the FIA WRC Academy is another perfect example of the opportunities available with Ford and M-Sport and I am following his development with great interest. Pontus put in some incredible performances last year and I don't see why he would be any different in 2014. It will be a great thing to see a Swedish driver racing at home and I'm sure the Swedish flags will be out. »
