WRC – Latvala wants to save his season at the Tour de Corse

Drivers will battle it out for honor this week at the Tour de Corse, with both the Drivers' and Manufacturers' titles having been won by Sébastien Ogier and Volkswagen. With “only” two victories this season won in Portugal and Finland, the Finn was not able to follow the exemplary consistency of his teammate.

“It was great to win the Constructors’ title so early in the season”, underlines Jari-Matti Latvala. “But I have to admit that I would have liked to be champion this year. That was my goal and I failed. However, the season is far from over and I want to win the last three rallies of the season (Tour de Corse, Rally of Catalonia and Wales Rally GB). This will allow us to start off on a good footing next year. »

Jari-Matti Latvala will be able to count on his experience at the Tour de Corse. “There is something that I love in Corsica. The asphalt offers excellent grip, but you can never cut the undulating corners and there are no straight sections. If you find a straight line of more than a hundred meters in Corsica, you are on the wrong island. I'm looking forward to returning to a clean asphalt rally after the dusty and dirty stages in Australia. »
