WRC – Lefebvre replaces Ostberg at Rally Australia

Stéphane Lefebvre will replace Mads Ostberg at Rally of Australia played this week. The Norwegian had to withdraw following his accident during reconnaissance of the event where he cracked two ribs, while his co-driver Jonas Andersson suffered multiple bruises. The Scandinavian, who had a bad reflex when going to the right, had nevertheless indicated the day before that they were fine and that they were not suffering from “serious injuries”.

“I really feel sorry for Mads and Jonas, because Citroën Racing is a big family. I hope they will be back on their feet quickly”, declared Stéphane Lefebvre who had traveled to Australia to take part in the reconnaissance and who must urgently collect helmets and suits with his co-pilot Stéphane Prévot. “I have never driven the DS3 WRC on dirt and I'm expecting a complicated weekend. Usually, I prepare for a rally several weeks in advance, watching the on-board cameras from previous editions to acclimatize myself to the stages. I will miss this work, but any experience is worth taking and I thank Citroën Racing for its trust. I will approach the race with humility, to try to achieve the team's objectives. »

Stéphane Lefebvre distinguished himself in his first event in a WRC by taking 10th place in the Rally Germany last August. The Frenchman will also be entered in the Tour de Corse contested from October 1 to 4.
