WRC – Maurin’s tribute to Ford at Monte-Carlo

Julien Maurin will line up a particular Ford Fiesta RRC at the Rally Monte-Carlo contested from January 21 to 25. The double French Rally champion will have a blue and white livery typical of the American manufacturer and the years of the brand's success written on the front hood. The models that prevail will be noted on the roof. “The idea was both to pay homage to Ford, but also to have a modern and aggressive livery”, comments Julien Maurin. “The classic Ford colors are therefore mixed with clean, direct lines. The Frenchman has been linked to Ford for many years. The reigning French Rally champion therefore wanted to mark the occasion for his arrival in WRC2. “After my two titles in France, I wanted changes, whether at the sporting level or at the visual level” he added. “With Nicolas (Klinger, his co-driver), we are tackling WRC2 and we will have a decoration which will contrast with the previous ones during our next rally, in the spirit of the combination recently unveiled. But for Monte-Carlo, which is such a specific and historic rally, I wanted something unique. I won my various victories and titles with Ford, and the successes of the brand in the 1990s and 2000s left an impression on me. Whether it was when I was a young fan, in 1994 and 1996, or when I was in my first years of rallying, in 2006 and 2010, the year which also marked my first participation in Monte-Carlo with a Ford. »
