Andreas Mikkelsen achieved his best result in Rally Monte-Carlo by taking second place behind Sébastien Ogier, thus ensuring a new double for Volkswagen. The Norwegian who is nevertheless not comfortable in this event had to also find his bearings with his new co-pilot Anders Jäger who replaced Ola Floene who had left to join Mads Ostberg at M-Sport and resist the pressure of Thierry Neuville (Hyundai).
“It’s a fantastic start to the season.”, rejoiced the Scandinavian who reached the last step of the podium at the Monte-Carlo Rally in 2015. “It was also my first rally with my new co-driver Anders Jäger and it’s wonderful to be on the podium together. I knew Anders was talented, but he did an exemplary job all weekend and he deserves my sincere congratulations. »
