WRC – Ogier and Meeke continue their duel in Monte-Carlo

Sébastien Ogier and Kris Meeke remain the fastest at the Monte-Carlo Rally. The Volkswagen driver only has a one-second lead halfway through the second stage.

WRC – Ogier and Meeke continue their duel in Monte-Carlo

Sébastien Ogier and Kris Meeke (Citroën) continue to rack up the scratch scores in Rally Monte Carlo. At midday of the second stage where most of the crews opted for super soft tires to operate on largely dry roads, the three-time world champion was 1” ahead of the Northern Irishman.

Andreas Mikkelsen (Volkswagen) remains in the top three with 16 seconds on his teammate Jari-Matti Latvala who moved up from seventh to fourth place. Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) reste à trois secondes du Finlandais en disposant d’une avance de 15 secondes sur Mads Ostberg (Ford).

Dani Sordo (Hyundai) marks the break in the peloton WRC occupying seventh place with half a minute behind the Norwegian. The Spaniard is struggling to find a good balance on his i20 WRC version 2016. The Hispanic driver is threatened by the French Éric Camilli (Ford) and Stéphane Lefebvre (Citroën) separated by two seconds who are moving just behind him. Ott Tänak (Ford) completes the top ten with a significant lead over Bryan Bouffier (Ford).

Corps SS3? La Salle en Beaumont marked the end of the day for Hayden Paddon (Hyundai) and Robert Kubica (Ford). The New Zealander, who was in fifth place, tore off his left rear wheel when he hit a tree. The Pole was trapped in the same place while leaving the road.

Elfyn Evans (Fiesta R5) took the lead in WRC 2 with half a minute ahead of the French Quentin Gilbert (DS3 R5) and Julien Maurin (Skoda Fabia R5) grouped in seven tenths.

The second passage of the special stages of the second stage of the Monte-Carlo Rally will begin at 15 p.m.
