Sébastien Ogier ceded a good part of his lead to Rally Monte Carlo against his teammate Jari-Matti Latvala, going from 1'45 behind his teammate to 43 seconds. The winner of the last edition of the Monaco event preferred to focus on safety to avoid the pitfalls of roads with variable levels of grip.
“The stages of this stage were very pleasant to ride. But the variable conditions still complicated the choice of tires., declared Sébastien Ogier after the third stage of the Monte-Carlo Rally. “We couldn't enjoy the courses as much as we wanted by switching from tread tires to winter tires and slicks. We always made the most prudent choice and it turned out to be the right decision. »
Sébastien Ogier is only 52km away from a third success on the Rock (the one in 2009 having been won as part of the IRC). “Tomorrow’s program includes three stages that we will approach with as much respect as today’s. I dream of repeating my 2014 victory at the “Monte”. But we still have a long way to go. »
The final stage of the Monte-Carlo Rally will begin tomorrow from 9:35 a.m. for 52km timed spread over three special stages. The videos of the event can be consulted here.
