WRC – Sébastien Loeb does not want to give up in Sweden

Sébastien Loeb set an exemplary pace in the second stage of the Rally of Sweden and faced tenths against Sébastien Ogier. From 31"4, the Alsatian reduced his delay to 26"9 over his compatriot by winning two additional scratches and consolidated his position by letting Jari-Matti Latvala face Mads Ostberg. The two Nordic drivers are close but the Norwegian is now more than 30 seconds behind the first DS3 WRC. “We both had a perfect day, but the gap has been made since yesterday. We paid for our poor performance in qualifying throughout the first stage”, recognized Sébastien Loeb. “Once again we had a lot of fun in the car, the stages were magnificent even if it was a little hot in places? »

Mikko Hirvonen is still behind after going off the road in the first stage. Nonetheless, the Finn performed well today with his road position and will be looking to collect bonus points from the Power Stage. “This day allowed us to confirm the level of performance of the DS3 WRC”, analyzes Xavier Mestelan-Pinon, the technical director of Citroën Racing. “Between the road conditions which were more equal between the leaders and the improvements made to the settings of our cars, we made good progress. Obviously, the most visible is Seb?s performance, but Mikko?s times are completely consistent if we take into consideration the starting order. »
