This is excellent news for all fans of rally In France. Having started the WRC2 season in a Citroën C3 Rally2, which didn't prevent him from winning the Monte Carlo Rally and finishing second in Croatia, Léo Rossel, co-driven by Guillaume Mercoiret, will finally switch to the Lancia Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale. This will take place at the next round of the World Rally Championship, the Acropolis Rally in Greece, from June 25th to 28th. Léo Rossel and Guillaume Mercoiret won't be the only ones competing under the 2C Junior Team banner, the WRC2 team entered by 2C Compétition, as Conner Martell and Alex Gelsomino will also be participating in a similar car, coming off four particularly successful events in the French Gravel Rally Championship. It will therefore be on this surface that Léo Rossel and Conner Martell will discover their new mount in competition, since the next seven races on the calendar will take place on Earth.
An interesting duo within the 2C Junior Team in WRC2
For Léo Rossel, this is a just reward for someone who is participating in only his second season in WRC2 this year. I would like to sincerely thank Stellantis Motorsport and 2C Competition for giving me the opportunity to race in such great conditions. I'm looking forward to continuing the WRC2 season with Guillaume and trying to defend our current position.“,” said the man who, at the time of writing, is the joint leader of the provisional standings with his brother Yohan and Roope Korhonen. Conner Martell, for his part, will be only the third American to compete at such a high level in the modern era of the World Rally Championship, after the late Ken Block, then co-driven by his navigator Alex Gelsomino, and Sean Johnston a few years ago. Martell also took the opportunity to unveil his program, mentioning participation in Finland and Sardinia, which should logically also be the case for Léo Rossel.
