Despite the already significant effects of the crisis on the financial markets, AUDI AG closed the 2008 financial year by posting never before achieved results in terms of production, deliveries and turnover: “By establishing, for the 13th consecutive year, a new delivery record, AUDI AG achieved the best result in its history in 2008. We have, in recent years, continually improved our productivity, which is confirmed by the reference financial data for 2008. These positive effects allow us to better react to the crisis,” declared Rupert Stadler, Chairman of the Management Board of? AUDI AG, on the occasion of the brand's annual press conference in Ingolstadt.
“Thanks to our attractive model range, we are even managing to expand our market share in the premium segment at the start of the 2009 financial year,” he added.
With an increase in deliveries of 4,1%, or 1.003.469 units? a record - AUDI?s turnover also reached a historic level in 2008: 34,196 billion euros, which represents an increase of 1,7%.
Operating profit, of 2,772 billion euros, also recorded an increase of 2,5%. Net liquidity increased by 18,2% to approximately 9,3 billion euros.
With 3,177 billion euros, an increase of 9,0%, the profit before tax also set a new record in the company?s history. The after-tax result, of 2,207 billion euros, increased by 30,4%.
