Aksel Lund Svindal debuts in RX2e

Former Norwegian skier Aksel Lund Svindal will compete in the opening of the World Championship rallycross on the Hell circuit (Norway, August 13-14) at the wheel of an electric RX2e.

The two-time winner of the alpine ski downhill at the Winter Olympics was able to try the car during a test session in Spain.

“Norway has always had a passion for rallycross, and now with this new era of fully electric rallycross cars, this is the perfect solution, He explains. Having the chance to test drive this car in Spain, as a car enthusiast, was really cool – it’s crazy, fast and really fun to drive. I have great respect for rallycross drivers because it is an action-packed sport. There's so much going on.

Even though I'm just an amateur and it's just for fun, going to Hell and seeing everything up close and joining the action is something I'm really looking forward to. It's no secret that I'm a big advocate for the environment and innovation, and with the increasing electrification of motorsport and the incredible performance that will result, I'm super excited to see what the 'future holds…'
