The Lithuanian Vaidotas Zala and the Portuguese Paulo Fiuza (BRX) will not go further than the 11th stage of the Dakar 2023. A new gearbox, supposed to replace the broken element on their car, did not arrive in time before the start of the stage because the assistance truck got stuck in the dunes.
Vaidotas Zala and Paulo Fiuza will therefore be content with two stages finishing in second position on this 2023 Dakar.
Of the four Hunter T4+ 4x1s built and operated by Prodrive, only Sébastien's cars Loeb-Fabian Lurquin and Guerlain Chicherit-Alex Winocq (for the GCK Motorsport team) are still in the running. Orlando Terranova and Alex Haro had withdrawn on the evening of the fourth stage following an injury for the Argentine driver.
