It looks like the end of hopes for Lucas Moraes in this Dakar 2025. Fifth overall, 41'55 behind his teammate and overall leader Henk Lategan, the Brazilian from Toyota had a catastrophic start to the day this Saturday in this stage linking Hail to Al-Duwadmi.
Indeed, the Toyota driver encountered problems shortly after the start, having to make a stop at km 17. Unfortunately, this was prolonged since Lucas Moraes stopped for almost 1h30 due to a mechanical problem with his Hilux. Luckily, he was able to get back on the road but just over 2h30 from the provisional lead in the general classification. Unless there is an incredible turnaround, the Auriverde will not win this year.
