William of Mévius forced to abandon

The 2022 Dakar ends after five stages for Guillaume de Mévius and Kellon Walch. The Belgian, who discovered the event with historic co-driver Robby Gordon, was unable to start the sixth special around Riyadh due to a Damaged roll bar on his Overdrive OT3.

“A few kilometers into this fifth stage we hit camel grass in a high speed section. We were able to finish the stage but after four long hours of repairs, indicated the rookie Red Bull Off-Road Junior Team.

It's a real shame to give up because we were able to show our consistency when the conditions were right, by winning my first stage victory on a Dakar and gaining crucial experience for the future.

I would like to thank the mechanics who have done an incredible job over the last few weeks to prepare the car for the rally as well as for their unfailing dedication in this ordeal! »

The Red Bull Off-Road Junior Team therefore loses a second SSV modified T3, a few days after Andreas Mikkelsen for the same reason. In the general classification, the best representatives of the team managed by Overdrive are Cristina Gutiérrez and François Cazalet, 5th more than two hours behind Chaleco Lopez-Juan-Pablo Latrach (Can-Am)
