Laia Sanz ended the suspense. The Spaniard hesitated between returning to the Dakar in the motorcycle category, or trying the jump on four wheels. The Catalan with 14 world trials champion titles will compete in the 2022 edition (January 2-14) aboard a Mini 4×4 from the X-Raid team:

“During my sporting career, I always liked to get out of my comfort zone and now I'm embarking on a new adventure. I think for a lot of reasons it was time to make a change. In order to prepare for the car's debut on the Dakar, we will participate in the Hail Rally (Saudi Arabia)”, said Laia Sanz. Former Italian motorcyclist Maurizio Gerini will play the role of co-driver.
