The promoters of Rallycross confirmed this Thursday afternoon that the double round at the Nürburgring was postponed due to bad weather. Like what Spa Francorchamps experienced a few days ago, the Ahrweiler region was also under water. Therefore, it is impossible for the Nürburgring to host what was to be the second and third rounds of the 2021 World RX championship. The drivers will thus discover the new German circuit at the end of the year, on November 27 and 28 at the end of the season.
“Everyone has seen the images of the floods in Germany, admits Arne Dirks, Executive Director of World RX. Although the Nürburgring circuit was spared from disaster, the same cannot be said for the surrounding roads. We have no other choice but to postpone the event until the work is completed.”
