Mikkelsen forced to retire

The discovery of rally-raid for Andreas Mikkelsen lasted only two stages. The Norwegian, called by the Red Bull Off-Road Junior Team for replace the American Mitch Guthrie positive for Covid-19 just before the start in Jeddah, abandoned before the third stage this Tuesday, January 4 in Al Qaisumah.

“We cannot continue because of irreparable damage to the roll bar of the Overdrive OT3,” said the rally driver, co-driven by Ola Floene. “I learned a lot about how the rally raid worked and it’s sad that it ended just as I was starting to get my bearings." Andreas Mikkelsen distinguished himself with a second best time during the Prologue in the modified SSV class (T3). He will now wear his attention on the Monte-Carlo Rally, where he will try to win the WRC2 class.
