Sara Price is Defender's third and final recruit for the 2026 Dakar Rally. The American driver joins Stéphane Peterhansel and Rokas Baciuska to represent the British brand in the Stock category, reserved for vehicles derived from the series, Dakar Rally, and W2RC in 2026. All three drivers will be driving the Defender D7X-R in competition configuration.
Sara Price made her Dakar debut in the SSV class in 2024, becoming the first American and third woman in the history of the event to win a stage. She finished fourth overall that same year, earning the title of best rookie in the process.
« Joining the official Defender team for its Dakar Rally debut is a huge honour, and I can't wait to start this adventure with the team, Sara Price rejoices. The Dakar represents the pinnacle of competition in rally-raid, and I'm incredibly proud to have already participated. Defender is an iconic vehicle with extreme capabilities, powered by a brand with a sense of purpose and commitment. Driving for this British adventure brand at such an important time in its history is a real achievement for me. The testing and preparation phase has been incredibly impressive to observe from the inside, and I can't wait to get behind the wheel. As a competitor at heart, I'm driven by the desire to win, and with Defender, I know we're aiming high—and we won't stop until we succeed. »
